10 Rules for Brilliant Women (TARA SOPHIA MOHR) Make a Pact

10 Rules for Brilliant Women http://www.taramohr.com/ Rule #1: Make a Pact No one else is going to build the life you want for you. No one else will even be able to completely understand it. The most amazing souls will show up to cheer you on along the way, but this is your game. Make a pact to be in it with yourself for the long haul, as your own supportive friend at every step along the way. Journaling Questions: What are some of the things you have done to support the people you love most in your life? I believe our greatest gift, is that of time. I share this with my family more so than anyone else. I try to share it with my friends as well. Normally the sacrifice is me. I am learning but with the 'need to please' disease and the ' to quick to guilt' syndrome that I have it hard not to get over whelmed with other people. What would it look like to do those same things for yourself? If I put the time into myself that I give to other people I know I be a better person. I know that I would have more to give. If I could just figure out how to fill myself up... it would be life changing. More than time management, but feeling like there is enough time, that Filling myself up would be a gift that gives to all... I get it. I just have yet to figure out how. Being my own supportive friend along the way means that when I screw up, I will. . . have the need support to pick myself up and carry on. I will understand what the ultimate goals is. When I want to do something but I’m scared, I will. . . live beyond meritocracy. ..." and then some", is my new way of thinking. When I get a new creative idea, I will treat it with. . . excitement and joy. Go for it. If it fails, redirect and move on!! When I feel someone is mistreating me, I will. . . remind myself that I am giving power to there words. That my feeling are what determine my worth. NoONE but I can make this determination! When I don’t execute on these intentions and vows, instead of beating myself up or feeling like a failure, I’ll simply. . . Pray. Reevaluate. Exacute, and then some! Who do you want to be, in relationship to yourself? What are the roles you’d like to play, in relationship to yourself? I want to be a self motivator. I want to be forgivng of me. I will want to have a light happy feeling in thinking of myself. I want the way I describe myself to change. I love being a mother, a wife, a daughter... but I want that to be a given. I want to find and define myself diffrently. Pick five new descriptors that resonate for you. 1. Happy 2. Pacient 3.Oraganized 4.Radiant 5. Fun What are some of the old roles you’d like to let go of? Things I can't change. Learn to move on and forgive myself. Create the life I want to lead. Assignment: Each day this week, pick one of your five descriptors for your new relationship with yourself, and use that phrase as your touchstone, your guidepost for how you relate to yourself. For example, let’s say on Monday you choose the phrase “steady friend.” Throughout the day – keep checking in with yourself – how would you be acting, what would you be doing, what would you be saying – if you were being a steady friend to yourself at this moment? Changing our relationship with ourselves is much easier said than done. Of course it’s not enough to just write the intentions, and pick the words. But the words matter. Setting intention matters. Creating a vision for a different kind of relationship with ourselves matters. All of that makes a difference.
